Magdalene was probably born in the hamlet of Bethel in Bethel Hollow which was 2 & 1/2 miles northwest of New Paris, Napier Twp., Bedford Co. PA Magdalene EMRICK was born on April 19, 1862 She was the daughter of John EMRICK & Sarah Walker SLICK. Her mother's background was that of Quaker & her family was part of the Dunnings Creek Monthly Meeting of Bedford Co. PA. Magdalene EMRICK married Samuel KALP in 1890. Magdalene EMRICK joined the Evangelical Church (founded by Jacob ALBRIGHT) as a young girl. Both her parents are in the ALBRIGHT Cemetery now known as New Paris Community Cemetery in New Paris, Napier Twp., Bedford Co. PA.
