About Major Leslie Albert Pollak

Whilst researching the background of Leslie Pollack after whom the Anglo American office in Kitwe, Northern Rhodesia was named I fould that this Leslie Pollack was the brother of Mary Lina Pollack, first wife of Sir Ernest Oppenheimer of Anglo American fame.

His other sister Charlotte was married to Ernest's brother Louis Oppenheimer. In their GENI family tree page he is listed as Major Leslie Pollak. Note both spellings are used. I believe Leslie was born in London around 1890 - listed in London UK Census 1901.

Geni suggests he died aged 44 giving year of death 1934. He is listed as author of papers whilst with Rhokana Corporation in 1934. Since independence the building bearing his name has been changed to Mutiondo House.
