MISS MARGARET DONAHUE RECIPIENT OF MANY GIFTS

Miss Margaret Donahue of Austin St. was surprised last evening at the home of Miss Elizabeth O’Donnell, 52 Pleasant St., Charlestown by friends from Somerville, Cambridge, Roxbury, Dorchester, Winthrop, Lowell and Charlestown, who tendered her a miscellaneous shower. She was the recipient of many gifts of cut glass, silver and linen.
Miss Donahue will be married soon to Timothy S. Buckley of Charlestown, formerly of Sandwich. During the World War, he served in the navy, as a machinists mate. Piano selections were given by Miss Elizabeth O’Donnell, Billy Casey of Somerville and A. Heffernan of South Boston; vocal solos by Miss Mary Whitehead, James Grady, John Twomey, Thomas Reynolds, B. Malloy, A. Greene, John Reynolds, Miss Alice Donahue and Miss Delia Henry. Thomas P. Lonergan gave songs and recitations from his repertoire and there was also dancing by Jack Donahue, brother of the bride-elect, who is playing at a Boston theatre. During the evening supper was served.

Miss Margaret Elizabeth Donahue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Donahue of the Bunker Hill District, and Timothy S. Buckley, veteran of the World War and prominent member of North End Council, K of C., were married yesterday morning at St. Mary’s Church. The ceremony was performed and nuptial mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. James H. Phalen. The bridesmaid was Miss Alice M. Donahue of Charlestown, a sister of the bride. Arthur M. Buckley of Sandwich, a brother of the groom, was best man. The ushers at the church were Walter L. Donahue, a brother of the bride, and Henry J. Buckley, a brother of the groom. A reception took place at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. C.J. Crowley, 11 Austin St. Charlestown. The bride’s mother was in the receiving line. After they return from a honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Buckley will live at 25 Monument sq., Charlestown.

A life-long resident of Charlestown, Mrs. Buckley is survived by her husband, Timothy J., of the Boston Fire Department, two sons Walter and Dr. Leo Buckley of Charlestown; a sister, Mrs. Alice Hookway of Billerica and a brother Walter, of New York.
