Above birthdates of James & Margaret DeVane Poitivent's children copied from James's Will which was written12 Oct. 1761. The Will was probated in March Court 1762 New Hanover Co., NC. One can see that the children were young when their father passed away. Posted here.
Margaret's name is abbreviated: Marg. Some have misread it as Mary. Margaret did have a sister Mary who married Thomas Corbett. Margaret's brother, John Devane, was one of the executors Margaret re-married later to William Jones who died about 1782 on Long Creek, New Hanover Co., NC . They had no children. There may have been a third marriage for Margaret after William Jones died.
