Lady Margaret Douglas married in about 23 September 1532 to James Hamilton, Earl of Arran, afterwards Governor of Scotland. She and her husband, on 31 May and 3 October 1560, confirmed entails in favour of James, fourth earl of Morton dated 22 April 1543. 28 September 1532: Instrument narrating that in presence of sir Thomas Mailvile, parson of Hutoun and commissary of Mr. James Symsoun, parson of Kirkforthir and official of Lothian Margaret Douglas, daughter of James, earl of Mortoun, in sua virginitate, asked that Robert Douglas and John Gyffert should be given to her as curators, and when, this had been done, renounced in favour of the said earl her liferent of the lands of Colden Wester and Sanderygis, in view of her infeftment in 500 merks from the barony of Kynneill.
