Margaret Fried, 89, Mandan, North Dakota, died Feb. 6, 2007, at her home in the presence of her family. Burial will be in St. Vincent's Catholic Cemetery, Crown Butte, North Dakota.

Cooking was a great talent of hers. Her sugar kuchen, German potato salad and homemade ice-cream were the best! Margaret spent endless hours embroidering many dish towel sets for all of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed any time spent at card parties and playing pinochle.
Above all, Margaret's faith was the mainstay of her life. Daily prayer and the rosary provided her with needed comfort and strength. She was a member of the Ladies Verein and Church Circle. She faithfully led the rosary before mass every Sunday.
