About Marian Louise Hoffman
Marian Louise Hill was born December 16, 1911, the daughter of Rodney and Grace (Symington) Hill at Monroe, Neb. She attended school in Parker, S.D., for eight years, then for four years in Storm Lake, graduating from Storm Lake High School. She then attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake where she received her bachelor of art degree in 1933. On September 30, 1933, Marian married Russell C. Hoffman at her parents home at 304 Geneseo Street. She worked as a reporter for the Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune and as an owner-operator of the Hoffman Flower Shop, retiring on August 5, 1972. Following the death of her husband she assisted in directing tours for the Storm Lake area Arts Council for nine years. Marian was a member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Church, and served as an Elder, Chairman of the Worship Commission, and Chairman of the Special Events Committee. She enjoyed reading, travel, and playing Bridge.
Preceding Marian in death were her parents, and her husband Russell on August 28, 1979.
