Claude Bourgeois, son mari, est déporté à l'automne de 1755 de Port-Royal à la Nouvelle-Angleterre, avec sa famille, où il semble mort après 1760. Veuve, Marie et plusieurs de ses enfants, après un exil de près de dix-neuf ans, arrivèrent à St-Jacques de l'Achigan, à l'été 1774, et s'y fixèrent.

Marie and her family were deported from Port Royal to New England in the fall of 1755 during the Expulsion of the Acadians.
