Marion Hendershot

Found on-line: Marion (Lund) Hendershot, 77, a lifelong resident of Stanwood, Washington, passed away on March 7, 2008, after a courageous battle with melanoma cancer. She was born Jamuary 31, 1931 at the pioneer family homestead of Sevald and Pernille Lund in East Stanwood, WA. She grew up on the Lund Road in the Cedarhome area and lived in Stanwood her entire life. Marion was 1949 ASB President of Twin City High School her senior year. Upon graduation she worked for the Snohomish County P.U.D. until she began raising her family. From 1959 until 1979 she was self-employed at the family owned businesses Jim's Sporting Goods and the Jim Dandy Ice Cream Parlor. For the next eight years she worked for Robert Peterson DDS. Marion married Jim Hendershot, her high school sweetheart in 1953 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanwood where she has served faithfully for these many years. Marion loved all the Pacific Northwest had to offer including blackberry picking, clam digging, smelt raking and fishing. She was also a faithful supporter of Stanwood High School sports teams. Her highest priorities were her love of God and her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Marion is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim; son Keith (Mickey) of Grapevine, Texas; daughter Kathy (Mike) Beauchamp of Camano Island, WA; grandchildren, Mykell, Meghan and Jordan; brothers, Ray Lund and Harold "Pug" Lund; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sevald and Pernilla Lund; sister, Anne Gilbertson; brothers Palmer, Gordon, Oscar, Selmer, Arthur and Gene.
