Page 1680: Thomas Burgess, born about 1603, and wife, Dorothy, in Salem, Massachusetts, 1630; then to Saugus; settled in Sandwich, Plymouth, 1637. Thomas died February 13, 1685. Dorothy died February 27, 1687. They had four sons and one daughter. Son, Thomas Burgess married Elizabeth Bassett on November 8, 1648, divorced June 10, 1661; no children. He married second, Lydia Gaunt, and moved from Sandwich to Newport, Rhode Island. Thomas died after 1687, and Lydia died in 1684. They had one son.
Page 1681: Thomas Burgess of the above, born 1668 in Newport, Rhode Island, married in 1691 to Esther Richmond; they had one son and four daughters. She died November 12, 1706. Thomas married second, widow Martha Wilbur Closson who had two children. Thomas and Martha had four sons and two daughters. Martha died about 1717. Thomas married third, Patience; they had one son and three daughters. Thomas died July 1, 1743, and resided in Little Compton, Rhode Island.[3]
