Martha Friederica Von Buchenröder was born in 1817 as the daughter of Baron Wilhelm Ludwig Von Buchenröder and Carolina Janssens. She married Jacobus Oosthuizen on 13 August 1849, in Bethelsdorp, Port Elizabeth, Cape Province, South Africa. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 6 daughters. She died on 25 August 1918, in Bethelsdorp, Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa, at the age of 101.
