Mary Throop Barney was Capt. Andrews second wife. In proving his will on Aug.17, 1742 his widow Mary made an adjustment of the estate with her step-children.

Children of John BARNEY and Mary THROOP were as follows:

  • Mary Barney, born 14 Nov 1688 in Bristol, Bristol Co., RI. She married Benjamin Carpenter (Jr.).
  • John Barney, born 13 May 1690 in Bristol, Bristol Co., RI; died 1690 in infancy.

Notes for Mary Throop Scrope:

Gene of the Barney Family, Barney, Beverley Micro fiche #6017538 pg 9 /23.

She was admitted to the Congregational Church at Bristol on July 6, 1 696. Apparently she married second, Capt. John Andrews on May 20, 1736; th is marriage is recorded as Mrs. Mary Barney, and was probably not Mrs. M ary (Danforth) Barney, widow of John Barney's son, Jacob. She and her step-children made an adjustment in probating the will of Capt. Joh n Andrews (w.p. Aug. 17, 1742). She was perhaps living in 1762.
