John (Iain Eoghain) settled on a part of his father’s estate, and married Ann, daughter of Angus Gillis (Hugh), Christmas Island,
Issue: — Hugh, Michael, Michael J., John, Alex, Angus, Peter, and James.
Michael J. is Superintendent of the Tailoring Department of the State prison of Concord, Mass. He married (1) Elizabeth McAllister. Issue: — one son, (2) Mary A., daughter of Joseph Bryden (Miller).
From Historical Sketch of Christmas Island Parish: Page 11:
Joseph (Eos Thom) was a miller for nearly fifty years. He was a very obliging man who would not see a person “stuck” if he could help him. A few years before his death, his grist and saw mills at Rear Xmas Island were destroyed by fire; but he replaced the saw mills by others more modern than those destroyed. His first wife was Teresa, daughter of John McMillin of Red Islands.
Issue:— One daughter, Mary Ann, who is married to Michael Farrell of Concord, Mass.
