About Mary Ann (McIndoo) McKee
A copy of their marriage was found among the Civil War pension papers as follows: Be it known, That on the 6” day of March 1854 a Marriage License was duly issued to Mr. John P. McKee and Miss Mary Ann McIndoo which license in in the words and figures following to-wit: State of Indiana, Owen County SS: To any Person Empowered by Law to Solemnize Marriage in the County of Owen, Greeting: You are hereby authorized to join together as Husband and Wife; Mr. John P. McKee and Miss Mary Ann McIndoo according to the laws of the State of Indiana. In Testimony Whereof, I, Basil Meek, Clerk of the Circuit Court of said County, hereunto subscribe my name and affix the Seal of said Court, at Spencer this 6” day of March A.D. 1854 B. Meek, Clerk. The Marriage of Whom is Certified this to-wit: State of Indiana, Owen County, SS: I, the undersigned, Nathan Cooper M.G. do hereby certify that Mr. John P. McKee and Miss Mary Ann McIndoo were legally joined together as Husband and Wife, on the 6” day of March, 1854, by me. Nathan Cooper M.G. State of Indiana, County of Owen, SS: I, Geo. W. Wask, Clerk of the Circuit Court of said County, hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and complete transcript of the Marriage License issued, and the return made thereto in the matter of the Marriage of John P. McKee and Mary Ann McIndoo as appears of record in my office. In Witness Whereof, I hereunto subscribe my name and affix the seal of said Court, at Spencer this 31” day of January 1900 Geo. W. Wask Clerk.
