She was the wife of George Hubbard.

Their children:

  • 1. Mary (~1628-1713)
  • 2. John (~1630-)
  • 3. Sarah (1634-)
  • 4. Hannah (1637-1717)
  • 5. Elizabeth (1638-)
  • 6. Abigail
  • 7. Daniel
  • 8. William (~1646-)

George Hubbard married Mary Bishop in Glastonbury, Somerset, England c. 1627. They were the parents of the following children, two of whom were born in England: Mary, John, Sarah, Hannah, Elizabeth, Abigail, William, and Daniel. John was born in England and was fostered by the Merriam family; he married Mary Merriam in 1648.

Disputed Origins

Some family files place a daughter, Mary Bishop, the wife of George Hubbard, in the family of this John Bishop, of Guilford This association was apparently devised from a passage in the will of Anne Bishop, John's widow. (Her will calls out a grandchild, "Elezabeth Hubbard.") A discussion about why George Hubbard's wife could not have been John Bishop's daughter is found in Nathan Grier Parke II, The ancestry of Lorenzo Ackley & his wife Emma Arabella Bosworth, Donald Lines Jacobus, ed. (1960), 98-100.

George Hubbard and John Bishop were contemporaries; therefore a daughter of John's would have been too young to be the Mary that married George Hubbard.
