Mary LONG was born c1768

Mary was convicted of highway robbery and sentenced to transportation for life. She arrived in Sydney Cove in 1790 on "Lady Juliana"

Mary was sent to Norfolk Island on "Surprise" in August 1790

Mary had a relationship with Edward BEDFORD on Norfolk Island

Mary was sent to Sydney in July 1794 and back to Norfolk Island in 1796 or 1797

Mary was sent back to Sydney in 1801

Mary had a relationship with Thomas PETREE c1803 and they had the following children

• Thomas 1804

Mary married James WARD c1805 and they had the following children

• James - December 1806
• William 8/2/1809
• John 4/7/1811
• Edward 1812/1813 died young (born after father died)

Mary married Thomas BRISTOW

There is no record of Mary after the 1828 census

Do NOT confuse with

• Mary LONG, convict "Prince of Wales" - this might be the same person but she did NOT travel on the first fleet.
