About Mary Catherine Madsen
Mary Krogue Madsen, 91, 1409 Butler Avenue, died of causes incident to age Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the home of a daughter in Salt Lake city. She was born in Bloomington, Idaho, June 20, 1865, to Jens/James Peter and Charlotte Amelia Nelson Krogue. She was married April 28, 1887, in the Logan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to Jacob Madsen. He died November 19, 1942. She was active in the church and member of the Old Folks committee. Since the death of her husband she had lived in Salt Lake City and Preston with daughters. Surviving: sons, daughters, Mrs. A.O. (Vera) Mickelsen, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. D. Glenn (Sara) Jensen, Preston, Idaho; Mrs. Elmer (Ilta) Jonsson; Mrs. R. T. (LaRue) Senior, New Jersey; and R.J. Madsen, Salt Lake City; a brother, Angus Krogue of Montpelier; and two sisters, Mrs. Emily Gertrude Christensen of Bloomington and Mrs. Sarah Page of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday in Salt Lake City, with burial in the Logan cemetery.
