Mary died 28/4/1853 at Ryde,

Mary was probably tried in Dublin in April 1791 and travelled to Australia aboard the Belluna, arriving in 1793.

Mary married George Patfield (aka Paddle), a convict who arrived on the Neptune as part of the Second fleet. The couple had 8 children before George committed suicide by hanging at the age of 46 in 1809. At the time, her eldest son would have been around 12 years old, and the eldest child Anne was13.

It is unclear how Mary supported herself and her many children following her husband's death. George Jr, the eldest son, appears to have taken over the family farm at Eastern Farms, but it's hard to imagine a twelve year old boy being capable of supporting 8 people alone (one of George and Mary's children died in infancy).

Mary later lived with a man named Gore until her death.
