About Mary Park

concerns

Do not confuse this Mary with Mary Johnson. One of them has wrong dates (and maybe also wrong places), but it is unclear which one that is. Further research is warranted.

Origins

http://sites.rootsweb.com/~brouwergenealogydata/Freeman/p191.htm#i4999

  • Mary Rose was born between 1662 and 1680.
  • She married Robert Parke, son of Thomas Parke and Dorothy Thompson, circa 1693.1
  • Mary Rose died in 1726 at Preston, New London Co., Connecticut.
  • Mary Rose is a possible daughter of Thomas Rose. If so, she would not likely have been born until at least 1675, which would have made her a much younger woman than her husband, Robert Parke. Alternatively, she may have been a sister of Thomas Rose of Preston.

family

Mary Rose married Robert Parke and had 7 children. The Mary Rose who married Robert Parke is probably Thomas' sister, and her descendants will have the name Parke.

notes

Ages of Mary Rose's children suggest she was a contemporary and therefore a sister of Thomas. Savage refers to a Mary Rose in a sketch on Robert Fleming: "ROBERT, Stonington 1669, had gr. of land 30 Sept, that yr. and d. bef. 1681, leav. wid. Joanna and d. Mary Rose, possib. other ch. "
