Biography
Robert Anderson, in his database on the Internet, stated (without offering proof) that she is Mary Gibbson [sic] (b. ca. 1625 in England). Anderson does sketch in "The Great Migration" a Mary Gibson, maidservant to Ollyver Mellowes, who was admitted to the Boston church on 9 Nov 1634, citing the church records; he writes that no further record of that person has been found in the records of New England. And, in the sketch of George Woodward's father Richard in The Great Migration, Anderson shows George's first wife as Mary ____ without further comment.[1] Conclusion: Notwithstanding various family trees, there is insufficient support for the hypothesis that George Woodward's first wife Mary was named Mary Gibson.
