Mendocino Coast Beacon Mendocino, California 01 Mar 1957, Fri • Page 12 Mrs. Mildred McMillen Passes Away In San Francisco Hospital Funeral services were held Tuesday, Febiuary 26th, at 2 pm. at the Po.nt Arena Methodist churcu. Mrs. Mildred McMillen had lived about 35 years in Point Arena, until recently moving to Richmond. Mrs. McMillen who was 70, passed away in a Sac Francisco hospital Faturday af:ec a long illness. The Rev. t Clyde Teel officiated at the services. Burial was in the family plot in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Point Arena. She is survived by her husband, i Abe McMillen; her sons, Henry McMillen, Point Arena; Alfred McMillen, Point Arena; Clarence McMillen, Boonville; Elvi.n McMil-len, Boonville; her daughters, Hazel Sorensen, Point Arena; Roselle McNeil, San Mateo: her brothers, Morns Parkin.?, Oakland; Aaron Parkins, Montana; Joseph Parkins, San Francisco and John Parkins, Rio Nldo; her sisters, Tamson Mead, Sebastopol; Harriet Denton, Alameda and Sabia Graph, Petaluma. The services were held under the direction of the Ormsbee's Point Arena funeral home-

Sixty-one adults and children were seated for the dinner and during the afternoon many friends of the former Point Arena couple dropped in to offer congratulations. Abraham and Mildred were married in San Francisco on April 6, 1906. They made their home in the Manchester and Point Arena areas until World War II, when they moved to Richmond. Present at the celebration were the following: Daughters, Mrs. Ron all McNeil of San Francisco and family, and Mrs. Hazel Sorensen and family of Point Arena; sons, Clarence and family of Manchester. Alfred and family o f Point Arena, Henry and family of Point Arena and Elvin of Boon-ville; Abe's sister, Mrs. Gertie | Brown, of San Francisco and his brothers, Alfred McMlllen of Santa Rosa and Ed McMillen. Healdsburg, and their wives, a niece Lois Degon of Monte Rio; Mildred's sister, Mrs. Tammie Mead, of Sebastopol. brothers, John Parkins of Rio Nido, and Moses Parkins of Oakland; IB grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The bufet table v is centered with a large, tiered, golden wedding cake, baked by Mrs. Hazel Sorensen. Guests signed a guest, book which was later presented to the couple. |
