As was common practice at that time, a child that died at an early age was "remembered" by naming the next child born to the family with the same name. Hence Moses II who was born in 1761 was named for his brother Moses who died in 1760.

Moses Wilson was born on April 8, 1761 to William Wilson and Elizabeth Blackburn. He was the second son of that name, his younger brother Moses having been born on May 1, 1768 and died on Feb. 7, 1760. Moses II died on April 7, 1786. <ref name="Descendants of William Wilson">C. J.
