About Myrtle Wilhelmina Austin
LEHI – Myrtle Cummings Austin. 88, of 920 N. 600 E., Lehi, died Friday at Lil Haven Convalescent Center, Provo, of natural causes.
She was born Nov. 27, 1886 in Heber City to John James and Sophia Johnson Cummings. She married John Newborn Austin on Oct. 25, 1906 in Heber City. The marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Dec. 8,1954.
She was a housewife and member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are her five sons and three daughters, Joseph Ray Austin, Seaside, Calif.; Lowell Dean Austin, Marina, Calif.; Glen C. Austin. American Fork; Howard Austin, Dugway; Don J. Austin, Mrs. Rita Shelton and Mrs. Grace Larson, all of Lehi, and Mrs. Melvin (Audrie)Brooks, Clover, Tooele County; 26 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Wade Cummings, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Don (Nell) Baum, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Howard (Birdie) Green, American Fork, and Mrs. Grace Dixon, Long Beach, Calif.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Wing Mortuary Chapel, 188 E, Main St., Lehi, with Bishop Donald Palmer, Lehi 11th Ward, officiating. Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday prior to services. Burial will be in Lehi City Cemetery.
