From Barbara Cox, 6/12/2011.
Here again, in 1948 these were buried (unless Eustis got confused) at Ebenezer and Zion... it was Daniel P Dowling, Mary J McLean Dowling (who I still haven't found), Martha M Dowling (who is in here with...) Mrs. Nancy Dowling who d Mar 30, 1849 aged about 86 years. At some point there Dowlings must have all moved.

Died, in Dale Co., Ala., on the 31 st of March, 1849, the mother of the writer of this notice, aged about 86. My father and mother, in their conversion to God, were among the early fruits of Methodist preaching in South Carolina, Darlington district, where my father died some twenty-three years ago, and I have no doubt entered into rest. My mother with several of her children removed to this state, Alabama, some 18 or 20 years ago, and settled in Dale Co. As to her faith, she was decidedly a Methodist, and endeavored to carry on in her life the same hallowed principles. In consequence of feeble health she has been prevented from regularly attending Church for a year or two. I am informed that she appeared usually pleasant and cheerful on the evening of the 31st, and thus retired to rest, but to the surprise of those present when called to rise and make preparations for breakfast, the spirit had taken its flight into the invisible world. We sorrow not as those who have no hope, but from her long and godly life, she has been a member of the M. E. Church some 50 years, we believe she now rests with the redeemed of the Lord, who have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb.
