Nancy McKay married Samuel Taylor at Ruperts House on 2 March 1847 Red River Ancestry This was Nancy's second marriage. She had been married previously to Joseph Everette. She and Samuel Taylor had nine children. Their names follow:

NOTE
At Moose Factory in February 1853, Ontario, Canada, Samuel Taylor noted in his diary that his wife, Nancy McKay, had been issued the sewing that she was paid to do for the company [Myra Rutherdale and Katie Pickles, Contact Zones: Aboriginal and Settler Women in Canada's Colonial Past (UBC Press, 2005), page 25 & Notes 52 & 53 on page 44]. Note 52 says that Jane Hariott identified her parents as Samuel Taylor (Scottish) and Nancy McKay (Half Breed) and cites script affidavit, RG 15, vol. 1321, series D-11-8-a, LAC. Note 53 cites Samuel Taylor's Journal, pp. 11 and 21, held by the Saskatchewan Archives Board (SAB), under Miscellaneous Diaries, Microfilm, R2.47.
