In the name of God Amen I, Nathan Ricketts of Montgomery County and State of Maryland being of sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say I give and bequeath unto the children of my deceased Daughter, Delila Selby namely to Mary Selby one hundred dollars. To Nathan Selby, William Selby, Allen Selby, Rachel Selby, Richard Selby and Delila Selby, each Fifty dollars.

Item. I give and bequeath unto Frances Ricketts, the wife of my deceased son, William Ricketts Four hundred dollars

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Merchant Ricketts in trust for the use and benefit of my grand daughter, Elizabeth Ann Groomes and her heirs the Farm or tract of Land whercon I now reside. I also give and bequeath my son Merchant Ricketts in trust for my grand daughter Elizabeth Ann Groomes the best beds, bed stands and furniture. I have 1 chest and my negro Margarett who I wish not to be sold out of the County and my boy George and my girl Mary Jane. But should my grand daughter, Elizabeth Ann Groomes die before she arrives to full age or die without children then all that I have heirs divided to her. I will to be sold and equally divided between my son Merchant Ricketts and the children of my deceased son William Ricketts.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Merchant Ricketts and his heirs all the rest or Residence of my Estate and lastly I do hereby constitute appoint my son Merchant Ricketts to be sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking and annuling all for my wills by me made satisfying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament.

In testimony where of I have here unto set my hands and affixed my seal this twenty seventh day of January Eighteen hundred and forty four.
