Newman Trowbridge, son fo Daniel Trowbridge and Mabel "Mehitabel" Brown, was born Sept. 7, 1738. He married 1st with ELIZABETH BILLS on June 4, 1764. She died June 3, 1777 and he married 2nd, on Sept. 2, 1778, with REBECCA DODD. She was born Mar. 26, 1751, dau. of Thomas Dodd and Esther Bishop. She died Feb 5, 1808 in New Haven, New Haven Co., Conn.; he died Apr. 29, 1816. All buried at Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven, New Haven Co., Conn.

Children (by Rebecca) were: Sarah (m. Munson), Newman Jr., Roswell, Rebecca, Isaac, Richard, and Timothy.
