Nicholas married Anna Maria Yager (Sieber) on May 11, 1706 in Marienthal, Pfalz (now Germany), Germany. Together they had the following 5 known children:

  3. Anna Maria Jäger;
  4. Anna Margaretha Jäger;
  5. Maria Gertraud Jäger.

Nicholas married Susanna Yager (Klaar) between 1734 and 1737 in Virginia.

Nicholas Yager left no will. He died between 1751 when he served as sponsor for one of John Huffman's children and 6 April 1764 when his second wi fe Susanna sold his slaves.

Nicolaus Jäger was probably born in Oberzell in the modern state of Hessen, Germany. As an adult he resided at the village of Falkenstein in the modern state of Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany. According to Zimmerman and Cern y, "Falkenstein was a divided village in the early 1700's, with it's halv es belonging to two different noble families. One half attended chur ch at Marienthal, and the other half went to Winnweiler parish. Nicholas Jäger's children were christened in both churches." (Gary J. Zimmerm an and Johni Cerny, Before Germanna #10: The Ancestry of the Yager, Stolts, Crees and Beyerbach Families, (Bountiful, UT: American Genealogical Lending Library, 1990), 20-21, cites EVPR - Marienthal adn Winnweiler, Pfal z) At that time there was no church in Falkenstein.

Nicholas Yager, his wife Anna Marie, son Adam and daughter Anna Marie left Germany in 1717, immigrating to Virginia aboard the ship 'Scott'.
They came from the area just outside Frankfurt.
Both Nicholas and son Adam (age 10) served indentures to Governor Spotswood.
After indenture, they both became substantial land owners in what is now the Madison County area.
Nicholas was naturalized in 1722,
He was granted 400 acres on the Rapidan River in Jun 1726.
He was active in the Hebron Lutheran Church.
After indenture, son Adam was granted 290 acres of land in Sep 1728 when almost age 21.
His name was spelled 'Eager' on the land grant.
The land remained in possession of the Yager family as of 2008.
Adam was naturalized on 19 Sep 1730.
On 22 Oct 1776, he along with others petitioned the State of Virginia to free the Lutheran congregation from required tithes to the Anglican (state) church.
As of 1782 Adam owned six slaves, Tom, Lucy, Ally, Kate, Abram, and James.
In his Will dated 1793, Adam freed slaves Tom and Lucy.
No mention was made of the other slaves.
