Nimrod & Nancy (Claunch) Bearden were married July 17, 1832 in Bedford Co., TN, and became the parents of 10 children. Some of them are: Eli Franklin Bearden (1835 - 1914); John J Bearden (1842 - 1922); Christopher Pinkney (1848 - ? Bedford Co., TN); Mary Elizabeth Bearden Young (1856 - 1942); and Argyle Harrison Bearden (1858 - ? TX).

The family migrated from Tennessee to Texas with 8 of their 10 children. After arriving in Marshall, Harrison Co., TX their last 2 children, Mary Elizabeth Bearden and Argyle Harrison were born.

Nimrod is found in the 1840 Census, 24th District, Bedford Co., TN, as head of household with spouse, both aged 20 - 30. Also in the household were 3 sons (2 under age 5 and 1 between age 5 - 10).

The family is found on the 1860 Census of Hunt Co., TX, Shiloh Post Office. By the 1870 Census they were in Hopkins Co., TX, Bright Star Post Office.

   Many of the Bearden men married women who's names were Nancy.  It becomes difficult at times keeping them separated.   

Nimrod and Nancy Married 17 July 1832 in Tennessee. The parents of 10 children. When Nimrod's father died he did not leave a will, he died intestate, Bedford Co., Tennessee.

  Nimrod and and his wife Nancy migrated to Texas about 1849-1855.  It was between the birth of their son Christopher Pinkey born 1848  and daughter Mary E. born 1856.

  In 1860 he was a resident of Hunt County, Texas Shiloh Post Office.
