Norman G. Maxton, a resident of Lionville area for 45 years, died yesterday in Chester County Hospital, West Chester, after a short illness. He was 79.
Husband of the late Martha Cooper Maxton, he lived on Phoenixville Road, Lionville. He was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Ellsworth and Susan Moore Maxton.
He was a 1916 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Lionville, and 50 year member of Mt. Pickering Lodge 446, F & AM, Byers.
Surviving are a son, Ellsworth C., of Ickesburg; a stepson, Joseph Aichholz of Collegeville; a daughter, Sara, wife of John R. Yonker of Coatesville RD 1; a step-daughter, Elva, wife of Lynwood Littlefield, Jr. of Glen Allen, Va; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Ralph W. Ralston Funeral Home, 107 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, Pa., on Wednesday, April 8, 1970, at 11 o'clock a.m. Interment St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Lionville, Pa. At the request of the family there will be no viewing. Masonic services by Mt. Pickering F & AM Lodge No. 446 will be conducted at graveside.

Funeral services for Norman G. Maxton of Lionville were held yesterday at the Ralph W. Ralston Funeral Home, Downingtown. Officiating was the Rev. George E. Herbert, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Lionville.
Interment was in the church cemetery. Bearers were Jesse W. Maxton, Norman G. Maxton II, Richard Littlefield, J. Eugene Edwards and Harry Ruth.
Mt. Pickering Lodge No 446, F&AM, held graveside services with William C. Griffiths Jr., worshipful master, and Bayard Samworth, chaplain in charge.
