Old Citizen Dies

Paris Drury passed away at his farm home a few miles north  of Unionville, Tuesday morning. He suffered a stroke last Saturday afternoon and was unconscious most of the time from then until his death.

Before Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Campbell left last year on their trip west, Mr. Drury wrote a letter to him telling him how he wanted to be put away and furnishing him a short obituary.

Mr. Drury was born in Mercer County, Ill., June 27, 1838. He moved from there to Richilieu county where he lived with his parents until 1854, when he moved with them to Putnam County. He was married to Mary V. Boner, March 14, 1861. To this union was born four children, three dying while young. One child, J. W. Drury, survives, also one grand-chile, Fred Drury, and four great grand-children.

Mr. Drury had lived on his farm since his marriage, except on year when he lived in Unionville, after the death of his wife, April 29, 1921.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Presbyterian Church at 2:30, conducted by Rev. W. A. Pollock, which was his wish.
