Obituary: Mrs. Jesse B. Campbell
After an illness of nearly two years with bower trouble Mrs. J. B. Campbell died at her home south of town Sunday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted at the family home, Elderman E. L. Prunty officiating. The remains were laid to their final rest Monday afternoon, the funeral cortege being followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives.
Vashti M. Drury was born in Rock Island County, Ills., December 21, 1844, being at the time of her death 53 years, 7 months, and 16 days of age. She removed to this county with her parents Isaac and Hannah Drury, and about 1866 was united in marriage with Jesse B. Campbell. To their union was born eight children, two of whom have preceded her in the solution of the "mystery of mysteries," and six-four girls and two boys-with her husband survive her. Two brothers, Wm. Drury of Rock Island County, Ills., and Paris Drury of this city, constitute the remainder of her family.
She was a faithful wife, a kind and loving mother, a gracious friend and neighbor, a good woman in all that take implies. Her demise is the cause of widespread sorrow, and the sympathy of the whole community will go out to the bereaved family.* Reference: [https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/73477180/vashtiah-campbell Find A Grave Memorial] - [https://www.geni.com/projects/SmartCopy/18783 SmartCopy]: ''Nov 20 2021, 20:34:24 UTC''
