About Patrick Harrison Boyd
Patrick Boyd (1711-1762) married Rachel Grissom in 1752 in Chester County before his move to Lunenburg (now Halifax) County, VA. Their children were Mary, Sarah, Rachel, George, James, John, William, and Harrison Patrick. After Rachel's death, he married Ann Douglas who was the mother of Richard.
Harrison Patrick Boyd (c. 1748-1782) was probably only three or four years old when his mother died and in his teens when father died. We have no other information about his life except that he was a widower himself when he died at about 34 years of age. In his 1782 Halifax County will, he mentioned his orphan heirs, daughters Rachel, Hannah, Elizabeth and Rebekah, and appointed his brother George their guardian. The estate must have been considerable as the administrator, A. Bulington Dunn, made several accountings.
Three of his daughters married brothers: Rebekah married Sylvester Adams .
