About Pearl Elmo Campbell
Pearl E. Campbell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Campbell, was born September 22, 1897 in Webster Township, Vernon County, WI. He spent his entire life in and around this community, gaining many friends and earning their respect as he went through the ways of life. On October 1, 1918 he was united in marriage to Isa Melvin and to this union three children were born, Berlie, Hope and Alice. He had settled in Webster Township and had taken farming as his life's occupation.
On July 3, 1937 he was saddened by the death of his son, Berlie, caused from a farm accident. About one year ago, due to ill health, he moved from the farm and made his home in La Farge until he quietly passed away on the morning of April 13, 1953 at the age of 55 years.
He leaves to mourn his death lie (Ferna) Parr of La Farge and Mrs. Ella Campbell; 2 daughters, Mrs. Earl (Hope) Steinmetz of La Farge, and Mrs. Delbert (Alice) Lawrence of Hillsboro; six brothers, Arless of La Crosse, Vadis, Verlin and Merwin at Willernie, MN, Keith Shelton of Washington, and Aubrey of La Farge; four sisters, Mrs. Hallie (Fenra) Parr of La Farge; Mrs. B. J. (Zelda) Owen of Viroqua, Mrs. Bethel Kottke of St. Paul, MN and Mrs. Ernie (Zany) Jone of, Montesana, WA; eight grandchildren, Berlie Campbell, Dick, Kent and Bradley Steinmetz, Conrad, Colleen, Christine and Cozette Lawrence.
