Biography
Penuel Bowen was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts on January 13, 1738, the third known child of John Bowen and Mehetable (May) Bowen. [1]
No other records have been found referring to Penuel of Roxbury. The absence of his presence in the earliest Roxbury censuses as well as from family tax, deed and probate records, which frequently mention his brothers John, Joshua and Samuel, suggests that either he died young with his death not recorded or he left Roxbury as a young man.
