PETER GREENE of Warwick (John 1) was born at Salisbury, England, and was baptized at St. Thomas's Church, Salisbury 10 March 1621/2. [1]
He came with his parents to New England in 1635.[2]
Peter married Mary, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Gorton of Warwick. Peter died shortly after their marriage and had no children. Mary married John Sanford in 1663.[2]
He inherited from his father's the homestead in Old Warwick, where he resided and where he died, by drowning, February, 1659. Peter left the property to his nephew, Peter, son of his brother, Deputy Governor John Greene. He may be buried in the Greene Graveyard (private), Warwick, Providence (now Kent) County, RI.[2]
