: Phillip /Sherman/
: Source: Ancestry Member Trees: NOTE: "Phillip" was apparently female, as her father's will clearly shows; "I give unto my daughter Philip ten ewe sheep..." Many family trees give her name as Phillipa, but I suspect this originated with an incredulous researcher who was convinced the "Phillip" had to be an error. This "correction" was then copied repeatedly over many years. While I can't say with 100% certainty that Phillip (or Philip) is correct, I have yet to see reference to any actual historical document that gives her name as "Phillipa." - FR
