The Following information was found in the files of Frances Holliday Abernathy <p> " Polly Holliday was taken to Floyd County (Beaver Creek) when young by her grandmother Allie Justice Holliday for a visit to "Granny Allies" relatives who lived in Beaver Creek of Floyd County. While on one of the visits to Floyd, Polly maried John Reynolds who lived on Beaver Creek. Polly is buried at Holliday Cem. at Ary. Not much is known about her or her children or her husband." <p></p> <p> Since Allie was a midwife, and she attended the births of her grandsons and granddaughters her husbands side of the family, she no doubt helped with her brothers and sisters kids also and she would have had to travel to Beaver and stay for several weeks and when some of her grandchildren got grown she no doubt took some with her to help especilly after she got up in years. so the above story is probabley true to a great extent. <p></p> <p>1880 Floyd Cenus--I believe this to be John and Polly Holliday Reynolds</p> <p>113--- Reynolds, John 24 farmer mar, ky NC Tenn</p> <p> Mary 23 wife mar Ky Ky Va</p> <p> Victoria 1 dau single Ky Ky Ky</p> <p> Rachel 11/30 May day Ky Ky Ky</p> <p>112 was a Bentley, Ann 35 single with two kids for a neighbor</p> <p>114, was a Newman, James 33 farmer</p> <p>115 was a Margaret Reynolds, age 36 widow with 4 daughters and one son James P. John H. D. Holliday may have died at her home also. </p> <p></p> <p>Beverly Newsom, 80 plus years of age and a resident of Clear Creek told me that Polly had two daughters Vic and Martha and that it was her wish to be buried back in Hindman or Perry Co with her people. He told me the log cabin they lived in was torn down just recently and a new two story home owned by J. Tacket stands in the same spot. His old home stands close by and that John is buried topof the hill behind this house. It may be hard to get to since a coal mine stands nearby also. He say their children is buried here and I can get their death and birthdates from the stones. He saidthat Jim Reynolds was a brother of John Reynolds. Meredith Slone is the son of Wade Slone who was the husband of Martha Reynolds. Also Wade's son in law is Samuel Wells, who married Imegene Slone. Meredith Slone has a brother who lives near Hindman, Ky. <p></p> <p>talked to Mike Tackett, phone 377-0153 who told me about Beverly Newsom and a Mytrle Reynolds whom I have yet to see. He told me about John having all his teeth capped with gold and is he thoughton Mud Creek in an unmarked grave. His mother may know where and which one or she knows someone that does. Her number is 377-6738. He told me this dad told him that their farm was once owned by a Dr. John Reynolds and most of Clear Creek was owned by him. <p></p> <p></p> <p> </p>
