About Prescella ‘Ursula’ Macomber
Biography
On 16 Jan 1634/5, Priscella “Ursulla” Thomas (1618-1680) married William Macomber in the Anglican Church of St. Mary in Bridport, Dorset, England. Priscella went by the name of Ursulla. William and Ursulla were the parents of eight children, including Thomas Macomber (1635-1711) and William Macomber (1645-1711). William and Ursulla were members of the Church of England as shown by church records.[1]
In the spring of 1638, William, along with his wife, Ursulla, his son, Thomas, and his younger brother, John (1613-1688), sailed to America. William and family settled in Plymouth Colony, and John settled initially on the island of Aquidneck, which became the Province of Rhode Island. John later settled in the town of Taunton in Plymouth Colony where he remained until his death in 1688.
Priscilla married William Macomber, son of John Macomber and Edith Locke. (William Macomber was born in 1610 of Dorchester, Devon, Eng, christened on 25 Mar 1610 in Bridport, St.Mary's, Dorsetshire, England, died on 27 May 1670 in Marshfield, Barnstable, MA and was buried in Marshfield, Barnstable, MA.)

In her husband William's profile, near the end of the entries in the about section is research with large number of sources listing her maiden name as Thomas. Her father was Mathew Thomas, and they were married in Bridgeport Dorset at St. Mary's 1/1634. However another site lists her maiden name as Mathew. Was there a mixup:first and last names reversed here?
