Revolutionary War Patriot - In the year 1780 Jones Gill was placed on the muster roll in the County of Charles City, Virginia, and shortly thereafter was drafted into the service for a tour of six months under the command of Captain Seth Stubblefield. Shortly after returning home, he was again drafted for a tour of 3 months under the same company officer. Again in the year 1781 he was drafted into the service as a private soldier and placed under the same company officer.
