From Haverhill Emersons, pg. 42: He settled on a lot at Chester, NH, which his father had purchased, and became a very prominent citizen; was selectman, town clerk, and justice of the peace. He surveyed land and made out deeds, etc. Was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention in 1778. He died September 26, 1793. In his will, dated November 12, 1792, he gave his estate to his sons Nathaniel, Moses, and John; to his wife Dorothy and daughters Elizabeth Barnett, Nabby Hall, Susanna Dearborn, and Anne Dearborn.
