In 1814 David Wire, from Connecticut, located on lot 100. His father, Thomas Wire, was a native of England, was kidnapped in London when seven years old and sold in Boston, where he remained until the commencement of the French and English war. He was then impressed into the English service for six years. He subsequently settled in Connecticut, and when the war of the Revolution broke out, enlisted and served until its close. ,
=============================================
NOTE: another Thomas Wire served in Revolutionary War from Goshen and died in 1775 (perhaps the father of this Thomas). This Thomas looks to have enlisted in by April 1777.

"Upon the surprise of Fort Ticonderoga, May 10, 1775, Governor Trumbull ordered this regiment to march as soon as possible to secure that post and Crown Point against recapture. A request to this effect was also made by the Continental Congress. The regiment reached Ticonderoga in June and Col. Hinman assumed command until the arrival of General Schuyler. It took part in the operations of the northern department until the expiration of term of service, December, 1775. The regiment suffered much from sickness. The soldiers enlisted from Goshen all returned, with the exception of Thomas Wire who died from camp distemper on the march up."
