Professor Cyrus Baldwin graduated from Dartmouth College in 1839, was for a short time principal at Thetford, Vermont, Academy and in 1840 became professor of Mathematics & Languages at Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, continuing until 1855. He was then two years principal of Palmyra, New York, Union Academy and in 1857 engaged in mercantile business in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island, where he continued till 1862, when he again became a teacher at Freehold, New Jersey, remaining till 1868. In 1869 he again took a professorship at Meriden, which he held for three years, when he retired.

For some years previous to his death he resided in Wilmot, and more recently in Hill.

Cyrus Baldwin, son of Isaac Baldwin and Bethia Pool, was b. in Antrim, New Hampshire on May 14, 1811; m. November 1, 1841, with MISS SHATTUCK. He received a College, and graduated from Dartmouth in 1839, and has made teaching is profession. For many years, he has been connected with the "Kimball Academy" in Meriden, New Hampshire.

KIMBALL ACADEMY was founded in 1813 and is one of the oldest private schools in the United States. It is in close proximity to Dartmouth College.

Children: Harriet L. (1842), George F.G. (1844), Marietta J. (1849), Emily Esta (1851), Charles Francis (1852), William Fifield (1855), and Lucy Cornelia (1860).

As of 1875, the last four children were unmarried and living in Meriden, New Hampshire.
