In German the Snyder name is spelled Schneider, then in English its Snyder, he died 10 yrs after hs wife, thats why her stone & name in German, his he had in English/Snyder.he is my 5 th greatgrandfather.I was informed he enlisted , but never served in Rev War.from Snyder co. Veterans affairs, per Mr .Rogar Snook, yet I just got this note today, 6/25/14 Please READ:On your site you say that no one can prove John Snyder was in the Rev War. I am a member of the DAR and we have him listed as serving under Capt Henry Ferree and Col Franceis Jacob Remer of the 5th Battalion York County Militia 1779.
