Pvt. Rufus Peoples Wood, CSA

Son of Winston Wood and Dicy Gay Wood. Husband of Priscilla Ellen Cato Wood. Rufus P. Wood was the representative from Heard County when Georgia Seceded from the Union January 19, 1861. Although he voted against Secession, he joined the Confederate Army and served in the Georgia 1st Infantry Regiment (Ramsey's) as a Private.
