About R' Zvi Hirsch Amsterdam, A.B.D. Konin
Alternative surname: Nachman. After father's first name.
According to Sefer Yizkor Konin (image 73) R' Zvi Hirsch Amsterdam, A.B.D. Konin was a disciple of Rabbi Jonathan / Yehonatan Eibeschütz - Eybeshitz. Seeing as Rabbi Jonathan / Yehonatan Eibeschütz - Eybeshitz died 85 years before him, we can approximate a date of birth of before 1749, meaning he died at a very old age. Sefer Yizkor Konin (image 76) does indeed say that he died at an old age but an exact age is not given.
However this seems to be in error. 'Konin: A Quest' (page 498) and his son-in-law R' Joseph Chajim (Heimann) Caro, A.B.D Wloclawek in one of his works both state that it was R. Nachman Amsterdam, A.B.D. Peisern (Pyzdry), Breslau who was a disciple of Rabbi Jonathan / Yehonatan Eibeschütz - Eybeshitz. Additionally, his daughters Sheva Caro and Sophia Weinbaum were born around 1810, and his son Nachman Amsterdam, only after 1819, meaning a date of birth of circa 1750 seems improbable. (Also, R' Zvi Hirsch Amsterdam, A.B.D. Konin was born in Peisern where his father officiated as Rabbi. Assuming R. Nachman Amsterdam, A.B.D. Peisern (Pyzdry), Breslau was at least 20 at the age of Tzvi's birth, that would have made him 85+ when he left Peisern. (He was ordered to leave his position there by Rabbi Akiva Eger, following a ruling by the latter, R' Jacob Lorbeerbaum, the Chavat Da'at and Rabbi Chaim Auerbach, of Lunshitz, Ba'al "Divrei Mishpat" to restore calm to the city. In this legend Rabbi Akiva Eger is already recorded as the Chief Rabbi of Posen, a position he only assumed in 1814. If one assumes the accuracy of this detail, you arrive at this figure). After Peisern he served in Breslau and died in 1819. That's another stretch. Rather, R. Nachman Amsterdam, A.B.D. Peisern (Pyzdry), Breslau himself was likely not born much before 1750. Also interesting to note is that R' Zvi Hirsch Amsterdam, A.B.D. Konin 's son in law R' Joseph Chajim (Heimann) Caro, A.B.D Wloclawek was a great great grandson of Rabbi Isaac Selig Caro ABD Hanover, a fierce critic of Rabbi Jonathan / Yehonatan Eibeschütz - Eybeshitz. However Rabbi Isaac Selig Caro ABD Hanover changed his view later on in life, see his profile. R' Joseph Chajim (Heimann) Caro, A.B.D Wloclawek does indeed refer to Rabbi Jonathan / Yehonatan Eibeschütz - Eybeshitz with respect as do many other Caro descendants).
R' Zvi Hirsch Amsterdam, A.B.D. Konin was appointed as the first Rabbi of Konin, Poland in 1810, the approximate year of birth of his daughter Sheva Caro. He founded a yeshiva there for Jews from the town and its environs.
