R Leo Munk 1883-1963 married Hannah born 1890 daughter of Moses Loeb Bamberger, Ditrict Rabbi in Kissingen, son of R Seligmann Baer Bamberger, known as the Wuertzburger Rav.

From Esther Herskovics, his daughter: "There were four of us children - my sister Jenny (Joy's mother), brother Max-Moshe, brother Willy-Ze'ev, and I. Thank G-d, we all got out. Moshe, in "Palestine", learned in the Chevron Yeshiva, which was then located in Jerusalem. He eventually got semicha. Willy, at age about 17, was able to leave Germany Kristallnacht)and joined a kibbutz in Holland preparing for aliyah. Once my parents and I got to England (January 1939, two months after Kristallnacht), they were able to bring over Willy to join us. Some relatives in England helped my parents financially, until they were able to earn enough money to keep body and soul together. According to the Nazi rules then in force, we were only allowed to take out 10 marks per person when we left Germany; on the other hand, we were permitted to pack a lift. So my parents bought furniture and such for their German marks and sent them in the lift. Surprisingly, it actually arrived in London, but a lot of stuff had been stolen out of it. My parents were very stoic about it - all our immediate family had come out alive!"
