Rebecca Delano, was born in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts in 1651, the daughter of immigrants Phillippe de la Noue and Hester Dewsbury. Her father was a French Huguenot, who joined the Separatist Church at Leyden. In 1621, at 19 years old, he sailed for Plymouth Colony on the ship "Fortune," arriving just after the First Thanksgiving.
On Dec. 28, 1686, at Plymouth, Rebecca married John Churchill, the son of immigrants John and Hannah (Pontus) Churchill. On Oct. 7, 1687, daughter Elizabeth was born. She would marry Capt. Joel Ellis in 1710.
In 1688, John and Rebecca were admitted as members of the Plymouth Church and in 1689, he was admitted as a freeman.
Rebecca died in Plymouth in 1709, at the age of 58, and was laid to rest in Burial Hill.
