Rebecca Bartlett (b bef 1664 - d 14 Dec 1741) was the daughter of Benjamin Bartlett and Sarah Brewster.

She was the direct descendant of Mayflower Pilgrims William and Mary Brewster and Richard Warren. Her first husband William was the direct descendant of Mayflower Pilgrim William Bradford.

Rebecca married three times:

  • First, to William Bradford (1655-1687), married 1679 at Plymouth, Plymouth Colony. Son of William Bradford and Alice Richards.
  • Second, to Robert Stanford (1664-1721/2) after 21 Aug 1691. His parents are not known. He was Mary Howland’s widower.
  • Third, to Caleb Samson (1658-1747) on 30 Jan 1729 at Duxbury. Son of Henry Samson and Anne Plummer. He was Mercy Standish’s widower. Caleb was a mariner.

William and Rebecca Bradford resided in Kingston. Rebecca inherited from her father land at North Hill.171

Children of Rebecca Bartlett and William Bradford, born at Plymouth, were:

  1. Alice Bradford, born 1680. Married William Barnes.
  2. William Bradford, born bef 1686. Married Elizabeth Finney.
  3. Sarah Bradford born 1686. Married Jonathan Barnes.

William Bradford’s inventory was taken on 23 July 1687 and administration was granted to John Bradford.[2] In 1700 the children of William Bradford - William, Alice, and Sarah - made the choice of their uncle Joseph Bartlett to be their guardian. [3]

Children of Rebecca Bartlett and Robert Stanford, born at Plymouth, were:

  1. Robert Stanford, born about 1693. Married Fear Wadsworth.
  2. Rebecca Stanford, born about 1695. Married Jonathan Eames.
  3. Lydia Stanford, born about 1697. Married Andrew Alden.

Robert Stanford died between between 15 May 1721 and 7 Mar 1721/2 according to this < source >, although neither the place nor a primary source citation are shown.

There was no issue of her third marriage.
