About Rebekah Rebecca Willson
"Rebecca (Rebekah), daughter of Thomas Willson, niece of John "Burgess" Willson (of the Virginia House of Burgesses). Rebecca married her cousin, James Willson in 1750 and they had 16 children together, 13 of whom survived to adulthood. A large portion of their land was donated to build "Augusta Academy" in 1749, the institution which later became "Washington College" in 1814 (now Washington & Lee University). Rebecca died in 1820, at the age of 94. My Great Grandfather's personal notes indicate that she was buried in the Glebe Cemetery, along with her husband, James, who passed away in 1809.
